Undergraduate courses
B.N.Sc (Generic) course
The University accepts about 120 students per year from those who passed the Basic Education High School Examination in science combination for that year. The candidates are chosen according to the aggregate scores obtained in the above exam and are selected in the order of merit from those who apply for the University of Nursing.
B.N.Sc (Bridge) course
The course is opened for the government nurses holding diploma in nursing certificate. The University accepts about (150 - 200) nurses per year with 3 years government services after passing selection examination held in Department of Medical Science. If he/she has foreign services under government to government Foreign Service term, there should be at least one year government service after return to our country.
Postgraduate course
Diploma course
Diploma courses for specialty nursing care are opened in 2013 and are applicable for orthopaedic nursing, paediatric nursing, critical care nursing and mental health nursing. It is eligible for nurses holding either diploma nursing or BNSc degree with the government services for at least 2 years and is required to sit for selection examination and personal interview. Number of candidates allowed depends upon selection results.
M.N.Sc course
Nurses holding B.N.Sc degree who have served in the Ministry of Health for at least 3 years are eligible to sit for the selection examination for master course conducted under the auspices of the Central Postgraduate Selection Committee of the Department of Medical Science. The selection is made according to the scores obtained in the written examination, interview and service record. Number of candidates varied depends upon selection result and about 6 students are accepted for each year.
