Departmental History

The Department of Physiology was established on 28th November, 1998. The Department was run by Assistant lecturer, Dr. Mar Mar Lwin from 30.11.98 to 1.8.1999. Dr. Ni Ni Tin serves as Lecturer and Head from 2.8.99 to 30.6.2009. Then Dr. Mar Mar Lwin became Lecturer and Head from 1.7.2009 to 2012. Now, Dr. Thida is the head of the Department and she has been appointed since 16.5.2012.

Departmental Objectives

At the end of the course the student should be able to:

1. describe the normal structure of the body and the relationship of one part to another

2. distinguish between various types of tissues
3. identify the location and general features of the body regarding all systems

4. show evidence of developing sound attitude regarding the importance of anatomy as a basis for understanding clinical disciplines
